Family/Kid-Friendly
Restaurants
Here are my suggestions for places to
eat with your kids in the Orland-area:
- Buffalo
Wild Wings
15888 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park; (708)
364-9464.
Order at the counter and dine-in or take-out.
Carries wide variety of food, specializing in buffalo wings,
spiciness to your liking. Large-screen TV's are all around showing
mostly sporting events. Families can play along with video
trivia game--ask your server for a keypad device.
- Buca
Di Beppo
15350 94th Ave., Orland Park, (708)
349-6262.
Order these great Italian dishes family-style.
The portions are HUGE and one entree could easlity feed a family of
four. Ask your server about the entree sizes so you don't order
too much (unless you like alot of left-overs!). Great
atmosphere--each room has smaller seperated areas and booths to
give you a more "homey" atmosphere. You can sit at their "Kitchen
Table" where you are seated in a booth in the kitchen area--each time
someone's entree is prepared the server shows it to you. This
booth is both fun and somewhat annoying because each diner is taken
through the kitchen and right past you, where they are instructed to
say "hi" to you!
- Sam
Maguire's Irish Pub & Restaurant
39 Orland Square Dr.,
Orland Park, (708) 460-1771.
Serving both traditional Irish
fare (i.e. fish 'n chips & shepherd's pie) and American fare,
this full-service restaurant has great food and atmosphere. Lots
of Irish artifacts and memorabilia hung from the ceilings and
walls--plenty to keep the kids occupied. Dine early here as this
is also a very popular drinking hole
- Fuji
Japanese Steak House
15132 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park,
(708) 403-1580.
Food is served and prepared on large hibachi
stove/tables in front of you. This is usually a lot of fun for
adults and kids alike as the chefs deliver a little showmanship as they
slice and dice your meal in front of your eyes. Reservations are
recommended here.
