My ePortfolio!

Thank You for taking a look at my Graduate Portfolio page. First off my name is Miles Nowak and I am a graduate student at Saint Xavier University in the Applied Computer Science program or MACS. I was a student in the undergraduate program in Computer Science and have moved on to the masters in order to obtain a higher education degree in my field of study.

What is Computer Science & Applied Computer Science?

Computer science is the more theoretical field of study of the two mentioned above. It is often described as the algorithmic study of information. It is more based on programming and theory of how a computer works and manipulates data as shown to the user.

On the other hand Applied Computer Science concentrates on the practical uses of it. Many hands on classes comprise the Applied Computer Science program at St. Xavier including Security, Database Administration, and Web Programming. Along with many business oriented classes including Project Management, Systems Design, and Computer Ethics.
