What is MidWIC?

MidWIC, or Midwest Women in Computing, is a conference that provides special networking and presentation opportunities for aspiring female computing professionals. Women students meet with each other and with professional women in the computing field to learn about the steps to a successful computing career. Student participants are encouraged to prepare and present POSTERS, LIGHTNING TALKS and BIRDS OF A FEATHER sessions, as well as to join with faculty & other computing professionals to attend several informative panels & presentations.

MidWIC 2009 is co-located with CCSC:MW. For attendance at both MidWIC and CCSC:MW, the registration fees are $40 for students & $140 for faculty. If faculty want to attend ONLY MidWIC, the fee is $65 including the Friday banquet.

Due to generous funding from the Microsoft Corporation and Anita Borg Institute, we have awarded nearly $4,000 in scholarships for student registration & travel costs!!! We now encourage academic institutions to support their students' attendance. Any student still seeking funding should ask her department for support or fundraising advice.
