Community-Based Learning

This style of learning helps us realize that we are more than just college students following a syllabus.

We are citizens of a larger world and we owe it to ourselves and each other to acknowledge that truth.

We can use the skills we learn in class to create change outside of the classroom.

By working in a class with a purpose, we see and admit to ourselves that everything we do

always has a purpose. Whether we realize it or not, every choice we make in an academic or

professional setting affects the outside world. By participating in a community-based learning

course, we decide to make that choice our own. We consider the ethics behind our actions,

and in doing so, our actions naturally become deliberate choices to make the world

a better place.
