Hello,

My name is Terri R. Weaver and I am a 1^st year graduate student in the Department of Computer Science.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Computer Science, from Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia more than 20 years ago.  I decided to begin working on my Master’s degree because, well, a lot (technology) has changed in 20 years…LOL.

After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I began my career in the insurance industry; it was my experience as an Actuarial Technician that led me down the path of data analysis. From that point on I worked for major insurance companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, CNA Property and Casualty and AON Corporation; I’ve held titles, including but not limited to, Statistical Reporting Analyst and Business Analyst; and I’ve worked on several projects all of which included, data management & integrity. I enjoy problem resolution.

As I mentioned earlier…technology has changed in the past 20 years and it will continue to change.  This degree will bring me up to date…SMILE. I will learn and understand how the internet REALLY works and how this along with control & security relates to data management.
