Welcome to The Computer Club!
Welcome to The Computer Club!
The Computer Club at Saint Xavier University aims to provide services that will educate both our members and the masses on computers, computing, and applications. We consist of an Association for Computing Machinery Chapter and a Conference and Trip Organizer, two independent organizations we absorbed into The Computer Club, making us a combination of three organizations.
The Computer Club was re-established in Fall 2009 by Dr. Khaled Alzoubi and Somchai (Kobby) Jogkaew, but not officially. They only succeeded in one meeting and bridging some of the gaps between the ACM Chapter, the Conference and Trip Organizer, and the previous Club. The Computer Club was officially re-established in Spring 2010 by Patrick Seiter (President), Somchai Jogkaew (Vice President), Miles Nowak (Secretary), and Michael Las (Treasurer).
The Computer Club tries to have only three to five meetings a semester, a beginning of the semester meeting, a mid-semester meeting, and an end of the semester meeting. Other than these three meetings (the middle of which might not even occur sometimes), we will only have a meeting if we have something to discuss.
Currently, our officers consist of:
- President - Patrick Seiter
- Vice President - Marius (Mario) Kawecki
- Secretary - Miles Nowak
- Treasurer - Alex Lukasik
We offer Field Trips to museums and trips to conferences, Seminars to enrich an individual's knowledge in a certain field on such subjects as applications, operating systems, and security, and we do Computer Diagnostics on the Saint Xavier University Campus for faculty and students.
All this and more, The Computer Club is an organization you don't want to miss!
